Beat the Heat

In response to today’s heat advisory Manager Lynch has directed that the following actions taken to help residents cope with this unusual and early heat wave.

  • Pools and splash pad—The McPherson Park and South Common pools as well as the Merrimack River Rynne Beach and the Shedd Park splash pad will be open until 8 p.m. today and tomorrow.

  • Senior Center—air conditioned facility will be open to all residents until 8 p.m. tonight and tomorrow until noon.  Water and ice available.

  • Misting stations—have been set up at Hadley Field on Middlesex Street and at Fr. Maguire Park.  These will be on throughout the weekend.

Residents are urged to take advantage of these services and to keep an eye out for their neighbors who may be vulnerable to heat related health issues.
