Due to construction at the intersection of University Avenue and VFW Highway, the Massachusetts Department of Transportationhas announced that the University Avenue Bridge and sections of University Avenue and VFW Highway will be closed to vehicle traffic from Monday, July 15 through Saturday, July 20.
· The University Avenue Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic. It will remain open to pedestrians.
· VFW Highway will be closed between Riverside Street and Aiken Street.
· University Avenue between Riverside Street and VFW Parkway will be closed to vehicle traffic. It will be open to pedestrians. The Cumnock and Southwick lots will be open to faculty and staff who are designated to park there. Access to those lots will be from the intersection of University Avenue and Riverside Street. Parking is also available at the North Campus garage and the Riverside lot.
Traffic will be rerouted during the closures. Commuters are urged to exercise caution, expect delays and plan for extra travel time.
