On August 22, 2013 the United Teen Equality Center will be holding a silent visibility in response to the recent acts of violence on Sunday August 18th where Keny Sien , a 25 yr old man was shot and killed. Staff and teens from UTEC are meeting at 4:15 pm at Lords Overpass on Thorndike St. where they will stand in silence with signs espousing their message of non-violence. Anyone who is interested in attending the visibility is welcome to meet at Lords Overpass on Thorndike St at 4:15 pm.
UTEC has made an organizational commitment to make a public statement every time there is an act of violence against our overall community. Similarly, last year, UTEC organized a rally with the theme of “Stop Shooting. Reclaim our CommUNITY.” Similar themes will be present at tomorrow’s rally.
