With an early, mini heat wave arriving to kick off summer, Manager Lynch has directed that the following relief options, including some extended hours at the Shedd Park splash pad through the weekend, be implemented.
Outdoor cooling options include:

Shedd Park splash pad–open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sunday, June 24 (regular summer hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Misting stations at Hadley and Fr. Maguire Parks–open until 7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow night

Indoor, air conditioned options include:

Senior Center–open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

Pollard Memorial Library–open until 9 p.m. today. Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday

The Merrimack River Rynne Beach on Pawtucket Boulevard is not yet open pending final results of bacterial testing. Should have that tomorrow and will update if it’s given go ahead.

Emergency personnel are monitoring conditions and calls and are ready to respond.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
