Kennedy \u2013 In charge of downtown \u201cCharlie\u201d sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here to hear about the concerns of residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>4 agg assaults; 2 were shelter related, 1 was\nbar-related, 1 was mental-health issue.<\/li><li>2 car-breaks \u2013 both were unlocked vehicles.&nbsp; PLEASE LOCK YOUR CARS!<\/li><li>3 disorderlies \u2013 1 public urination, 2\nbar-related<\/li><li>2 robberies \u2013 1 involved a known party, 1 was a\nstolen bicycle in daylight for which arrest was made.<\/li><li>6 vandalism, mostly in Appleton and South Street\nareas.&nbsp; Many involve vacant buildings\nwhich will get worse in cold weather.<\/li><li>Underage bar stings have found 6 people at Blue\nShamrock.&nbsp; But they had very good forged\nMA licenses, so the bar is less on the hook than they would be if they had let\nin out of state licenses.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Q:&nbsp; I walk through South Common\nevery day.&nbsp; Should I be worried about the\nhomeless people?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A:&nbsp; No, they generally keep to\nthemselves.&nbsp; City Manager\u2019s office is\nworking on day programs to help give these people somewhere to go.&nbsp; Program to distribute free needles and other\ndrug accessories has made things even worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Q:&nbsp; Isn\u2019t there a new drug court?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A:&nbsp; Yes, but there are certain\ncriteria for being able to access it.&nbsp;\nOne thing that\u2019s required is for the individual to want to get well and\nmake a change.&nbsp; Many of the drug-addicted\nhomeless don\u2019t seem to want the help that\u2019s available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Q:&nbsp; When is the shelter\u2019s day\nprogramming going to begin?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A:&nbsp; Soon, but not sure about the\nschedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Q:&nbsp; Is the joint UML\/LPD patrol\nstill happening?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A:&nbsp; No.&nbsp; But it might be worth looking at starting up\nagain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New downtown police precinct is up and running.&nbsp; It is staffed irregularly but generally\nbetween 8:30am &#8211; 11:00pm.&nbsp; City Manager\nand LPD are committed to downtown quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>David Henderson, Director of Marketing\nfor the Merrimack Repertory Theatre, will discuss the MRT&#8217;s offerings and\ndiscounts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>41<sup>st<\/sup> season just began.<\/li><li>Current production \u201cCambodian Rock Band\u201d deals\nwith Cambodian Genocide, but its really a universal story about surviving and\ncoping with tragedies, and yet it\u2019s about family and filled with humor and\nmusic.&nbsp; Great for younger audiences (16+)\nin spite of the somewhat heavy topic.<\/li><li>Later in the spring is a show about Nina Imone.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Q:&nbsp; What\u2019s up with the search for\na new Artistic Director?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A:&nbsp; 90 people applied; Have been\nnarrowed it down to 4 finalists.&nbsp;\nHopefully someone will be offered the job within the next month or so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Summer youth program teaches general life communication skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Special discount nights:&nbsp; $5 for\nthe first night of each show.&nbsp; $10 Lowell\nnight, and other special discounts are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>General Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>No meeting in November or December.&nbsp; Next meeting is 1\/27\/2020.<\/li><li>Election is November 5<sup>th<\/sup>.<ul><li>New voting system.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>CPA<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Meeting Adjourns at 7:50.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LDNA 10\/28\/19 7 PM, LTC Present: Jack Moynihan Sam Litvin Meeting called to order at: 7:05.
